Dylan had already told the farmer that we were a couple which was news to me but I went along with it.
— Featured on Together Journal

I saw him not long after then at another gig called laneway. I was saying how I didn’t really know what I was doing this year and he was saying I should join him and a friend doing the seeding season in WA Australia. To me I thought why not, it will be good experience and money. We arrived over there and Dylan had already told the farmer that we were a couple which was news to me but I went along with it. We haven’t really looked back since then.

I thought Leighton was so amazing, with his long hair, walking barefoot around Wellington. We balance each other, as I am quite organised and Leighton is relaxed. We were nearing our 10 year anniversary when Leighton arranged a trip to Vietnam and proposed while we were in a small row boat in Ninh Bình – a beautiful place. The following day, he arranged a private boat to stay overnight in Ha Long Bay. This was his original proposal plan, but he forgot to tell the crew he’d already done it, so he had to pretend to propose again, as they’d set up leaves and petals in the shape of a heart on a beach.

40s glamour meets modern minimalist vibe, and it needed to be pre-owned, as it was important to us to minimise waste
— Natalie & David

David loves to say we met the “old fashioned” way: on Tinder. True story, although it was only due to some heavy-hitting mutual friends who insisted that we actually decided to meet.

For our first date, we shared a bottle of wine in the corner of a dimly lit bar and talked until the bar had to close. We are archetypal Wellingtonians. We have too many indoor plants and a needy cat, Winston. We think living in a rickety house on the side of a hill is normal. We both independently moved here to study law and fell in love with the city.

Tipi's, Clear Marquees and Sperry Tents for your wedding day

Tipi's, Clear Marquees, Sperry Tents and Alfresco

Someone has dropped a knee and popped the question and you’ve said yes. Now you want to hold your wedding day but you don’t know where to look to book your venue.

If you’re lucky enough to have a bit of space on the farm or a section or a venue with a bit of a clearing, here’s a list of some great alternatives to creating your own unique wedding venue. From unique looking Tipi Tents, to clear marquees to Sperry Tents, take a look at the options below.

Feel free to get in touch if you’re after more info and drop me a line at hello@davidle.co.nz

Tipi Tents | Topkata

Much of the unique character and charm of the TopKåta Tipi can be put down to the poles - natural, practical, environmentally friendly and truly beautiful.  Each pole is created from 100 year old, late-maturing, chemical-free Spruce sourced from sustainable forests in Sweden.  The cold causes these trees to grow very slowly, producing exceptionally strong timber.  The TopKåta Tipi canvas are custom made, lightweight, waterproof and wind resistant, offering sustainable, eco-friendly solution to the PVC normally used in marquee structures.

Clear Marquees | Party Up

Have an amazing view and want to be able for you and your guest to enjoy them but also want some shelter from the elements? A clear marquee is the perfect option to enjoy those 360 degree views.

Sperry Tents | Flagship Events

These are classic handmade ivory coloured sailcloth and Spruce pole tents that require no lining or frilly detailing.

The natural colour of the sailcloth reflects a warm and embracing light viewed from both inside and out. The high sides which can be covered or left open as required, provide for perfect sightlines and extended views whether standing or seated within the tent.
