It’s been a whole year since I’ve been back to @tarurekaestate and what a stunner of a day to back to it. David and Teri, super lovely, ridiculously chilled, authentic people who added their sweet small details and pops of colour. With a week of hellishly typical Wellington weather in the build up to the big dance we scored a stunner of a bluebird day. Working with a bunch of my Welly and Wairarapa faves and topped off with some super lush florals by @the_wild_flower_wgtn - check out some snaps and how good are David’s boots, damn boy they some spicy shoes!!!

Started off the year with a double banger out at @rose_and_smith where I’m starting to become part of the furniture and I don’t mind that one bit. Ana & Simon. Two craft beer drinking, food loving kids who knew how to have a good time. Some out the gate antics, pre reception dress repairs by Mumma Ming and 5 kegs of @altitudebrewing finest. 10 snaps of one helluva day. Day for it!

I’ve been a pretty privileged of being able to continue shooting and documenting weddings with the bulk of my couples willing and open to adapt and work with venues, vendors and myself to keep their wedding dates going or discussing and keeping an open dialogue with everyone involved.

Nina and Alogah were one of these like minded couples, I’m grateful and fortunate we were able to move their original wedding date to an available one which keep the whole team on board and what a team that was. Surround yourself with like mind people and everyone can do great things.

Having to cut down their guests numbers by over half, with loved ones in Auckland and Australia unable to attend due to ongoing restrictions, by oh did everyone who did come bring the vibe and energy.

Class, style and culture - a perfect mix for a beautiful wedding day. A few stills from this stunning wedding and cant wait for Sink or Surface film shortly to follow.

Kia ora koutou katoa. Ata mārie, mōrena. Feeling blessed, a little sore and also a bit tired. It’s been all go for a while here but it’s been nice to be able to capture weddings and get out and about.

TREE CHURCH MARTINBOROUGH WEDDING

Sammie and Tony were meant to get married before the big C put a halt to those plans. Fast forward 12 months, the night before their big day it rained a monsoon, we had a giant thunderstorm and it was the long weekend. Everyone hit the hay and the next day turned out the perfect day - beautifully overcast for their outdoor ceremony in the Tree Church in Martinborough and a golden sunset for their al fresco outdoor backyard reception in the Hutt.
