I took a trip up the far north for Mel & Heath’s wedding at Le Woolshed in Wellsford to kick off my double banger. As the kids say it was slappin’ and the whole crew brought plenty of rizz’

Teesha & Petros wedding at The Milk Station, Otaki, Wellington

Teesha & Petros doing weddings their own way at The Milk Station

Sometimes you’ve just got to lick the stamp and send it
— Daniel Riccardo

The world is a pretty messed up place atm so I’m grateful to escape the realities of it all and capture arohanui and happiness at weddings every weekend.
An early morning flight from Tāmaki Makaurau and a tiki tour drive south was food for the soul to capture Teesha & Petros wedding @the_milk_station_otaki
These guys, talented people in their own right did their wedding how they wanted. No cake, no sit down dinner. Just good drink, good people and a bloody good time. That’s what I love about this gig, we’re all different people from different back grounds, but if you’re a GC, life is good.
Finally, bit of a power bomb meeting @danielricciardo as I’m a big F1 fan, looking forward to season 3 of drive to survive, vamos smooth operators🤘🏽#davidle_nz @davidle_nz

A celebration of Indian and kiwi culture for the wedding of Caleb & Abigail at Bracu

A beautiful mix of kiwi and indian culture, music and dance.
— Caleb and Abigail

There’s a handful of things certain in life this wedding season, the first is taxes, but the others are rain and Air New Zealand cancelling my flights for weddings where I need to fly. That meant that this old boy hit the road at 4am to drive to Wellington to catch a flight to Auckland for the wet and rainy wedding of Caleb and Abigail at Brace Estate just outside Bombay in South Auckland.

A long weekend, school holidays and a bit of tiki touring around Auckland meant dodging traffic hold ups were a real thing too. With guests arriving 40mins late due to being in traffic we finally got it underway and the weather cleared for the guests to enjoy canapes and drinks outside while we popped off for photos before the rain returned in time for the reception.

In amongst all the carnage was the beautiful wedding, a mix of indian and kwi cultures, pops of bright lush colours, singing and dancing. Check out their amazing wedding.

Wellington wedding at the Milk Station of Dushkanka and Rakitha featured on Together Journal

After sharing a warm hot chocolate overlooking a stunning view, Raks dropped on one knee and asked the question, the rest is history!
— Dushkanka and Rakitha

Featured on Together Journal

We have always envisioned our wedding to be a mix of the two cultures we have been brought up in, both Kiwi and Sri Lankan. Although a traditional kiwi-styled ceremony, we incorporated cultural touches such as our bridesmaids wearing sarees and having a traditional Sri Lankan oil lamp ceremony and Sri Lankan dancers at the reception!

A cancelled flight and a flood couldn't stop me get to Kauri Bay Boomrock

A cancelled flight, flooding and a state of emergency, just another better work story
— Courtney & Caleb's wedding day

Kauribay Boomrock, Auckland

We can’t seem to shake this extended bad run of wet weather in Aotearoa, I’m not a fan. So when my flight for Courtney & Caleb’s wedding at Kauribay Boomrock was cancelled a hour before boarding on Friday evening I had to decide risk rebooking my flight for the next morning the day of or hitting the road and making the drive up (little did I know the flooding carnage that would be happening and the closure of the airport).

I decided to hit the road and made it in Friday night at 10.30pm - driving through flood waters and past a few hectic car crashes and once I checked in I realised how bad the extent of flooding was in Auckland. The next morning wasn’t any easier trying to get into Clevedon village, taking 3 different detours to find a semi open road that wasn’t to deep to drive through, but we made it.

Courtney & Caleb, true legends of the game dealing with plenty in the lead up to the big day. Boomrock turned it on from the afternoon and we had a stunner of an evening to dance the night away. Thanks for having me, and even the 5am Sunday morning drive back home was all worth it to capture your day.
